Marguerite D'Aloia, Chair, Professional tap teacher and stage performer
Marguerite D’Aloia taught Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Tumbling for over 17 years before deciding to specialize in Tap. She has taught in various studios in New Jersey and most recently at Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan. Marguerite has appeared in many off Broadway productions as well as T.V., movies, commercials and industrials. Marguerite has been teaching Tap at Groove With Me since 1997. From 2007 to 2012, Marguerite served as the Chairwoman of Groove With Me's Board of Directors and became chair once again in the fall of 2015. Currently, Marguerite teaches 3 classes each week.
Rachel Lurie, Principal, Lurie Information Consulting, LLC
Currently the records manager for a New York hospital, Rachel Lurie has a solid background in the financial-services industry where she worked as a compliance officer. In that capacity she managed a broad array of projects in the development of global corporate transaction monitoring. Her educational background includes a Master of Library Science degree from Rutgers University and an Advanced Certificate in Information and Library Science from Pratt Institute. Rachel is also an AIIM, ERM (Electronic Records Management) Practitioner, and has completed the KM Essentials program at the International Knowledge Management Institute.
Sylvie Henry, Treasurer, Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter
Sylvie Henry has over 20 years experience as a financial manager in the nonprofit industry. Sylvie is the Director of Finance of the Housing Division of Met Council on Jewish Poverty, responsible for the finance of over 20 buildings with 1600 apartments for the low income elderly. Sylvie previously was the VP of Finance for the New York Association for New Americans. At NYANA, she started as a payroll bookkeeper and then worked her way up to her senior financial position. She is an accounting graduate of Baruch College.
To top it off, while working fulltime, Sylvie is the proud mother of two children and has been married for 20 years.
Katharine Gill, Barclays
Kate has over 15 years of experience in senior leadership roles at financial services firms ranging from start ups to global organizations. Kate holds an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business, a Master's degree from California State University, Fullerton and received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University. Kate lives in New York City with her daughter and their dog Pippo.
G. Shireen Hilal, Secretary, BDO Consulting
Shireen Hilal is a strategy and operations professional with experience creating, adapting, and expanding critical business initiatives to improve profitability and efficiency. She is currently managing the growth and strategy for BDO Consulting, a preeminent, national accounting firm’s consulting practice with over 350 client-facing professionals, as the Director of Transformation and Growth. She was previously a commercial litigator at top law firms, most recently Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. Shireen received her undergraduate degree from New York University and her law degree from Fordham University School of Law.
Renee Calabro, Communications
Renee has over 17 years of experience in public relations. Most recently she was head of communications at Deutsche Bank. Earlier in her career she worked at some of the world’s top communications firms including Edelman and Abernathy MacGregor. Renee holds a BA in English from Connecticut College. She lives on the Upper East Side.
Allan Forsyth, Writer
Allan Forsyth joined Groove With Me after reading about Abby Rosin’s Mont Blanc award in May of 2000. Allan became Groove With Me’s first board chairman in 2001 and served for the next six years, retiring in 2007 but continuing as a board member. A Princeton graduate and an Army veteran, Allan spent three decades as a senior editor and managing editor at various book publishing houses. Then he moved to the non-profit world, joining the boards of his children’s schools and summer camp, where he served as communications chair for three multi-million dollar fundraising campaigns. When his kids went to college, he found Groove With Me.
Lisa Marchese, American Express
Lisa Marchese is Executive Vice President, Head of Strategy and M&A at American Express. In this role, Lisa leads teams whose global responsibilities include the coordination of acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, partnerships and divestitures for the Company, as well as the development of business unit and corporate strategies through consulting engagements across all lines of business and functions. Lisa holds a MBA from Columbia University and graduated from Barnard College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. When not traveling the globe, she lives in Brooklyn with her husband and three children.
Steve Wolinsky, Jewish Care Association
Steve Wolinsky is a consultant for the investment management industry specializing in merger and acquisition integration, back office operations and IT programs. He worked at JP Morgan Chase for 25 years, where he was a senior vice president, managing back office services for investment managers. Previously, he managed the back offices of Latin American branches and capital market businesses in London. He was also the founder and CEO of a web-based transaction platform for real estate closings. Steve is a graduate of Brown University. He is married, with 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.

She is a Contributing Editor of BizBash Magazine, and is a member of both the James Beard Foundation and the International Association for Culinary Professionals (IACP). A native of San Francisco, she studied dance for 8 years with the San Francisco Ballet Company as a young girl. While with the SF Ballet, Caryl performed in the Nutcracker several times. She was both a Toy Soldier and an Angel! Caryl graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in History.

Becca Parrish began her career in journalism, working as a features reporter for the Montgomery Advertiser, the daily newspaper in Alabama‘s capital. After moving to New York, Becca worked at Stanton Crenshaw Communications to direct media campaigns for Starbucks, CNBC and Sony Online Entertainment. She later moved into the world of food and hospitality, first at KB Network News and later at Baltz & Company. She has managed publicity campaigns for many talented chefs and restaurateurs, including Tom Colicchio, Eric Ripert, Marcus Samuelsson and Scott Conant. A native of Pensacola, Florida, Becca earned a master‘s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor‘s degree in English literature from Florida State University, where she started out as a modern dance major. When not PR-ing, she sings with the band Milton.

Jill Rosengard Hill served as a Groove With Me board member from 2001-2007. Jill is Vice President, Managing Director of Frank N. Magid Associates, a leading media, communications and entertainment research and strategy firm. Jill oversees Magid's cable and wireless practice based out of Magid’s New York office. She helps cable operators, wireless carriers and programmers define programming and marketing strategies based on consumer research. Her expertise includes Video On Demand, HDTV, interactive television and wireless content. She joined the firm in 1996 and moved to New York in 1998 after spending several years with the Associated Press as its Midwest regional television executive. Jill has an extensive journalism background including helping the Tribune Company launch ChicagoLand Television, a 24-hour news channel in the role of assignment manager. Before that, she spent six years as an investigative reporter and weekend anchor for the ABC affiliate in Dubuque, Iowa, and the CBS affiliate in South Bend, Indiana. Jill received her Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. Jill studied tap, jazz and modern dance in high school and loves being able to give back by sharing her love of dance with young women.
